NPP Confab: Ken Ofori Atta To Lead Logistics Team

The New Patriotic Party’s National Council has appointed former National Chairman, Peter Mac Manu, to lead the party’s 2016 campaign team.

Mr Mac Manu’s appointment was made at a crucial meeting of the National Council members on Wednesday.

The party’s flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had nominated Mr Mac Manu for the council’s endorsement. Mr Mac Manu has been leading the party’s electoral reform agenda, working closely with the Electoral Commission.

Also on the team is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere and former General Secretary, Dan Botwe.

Former Chief Executive of Data Bank, Ken Ofori Atta, will lead the logistics team, with support from party stalwarts Boakye Agyarko.and John Boadu, acting General Secretary

The Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Obiri Boahen, told the media after the council’s meeting on Wednesday that the reasons for Mr Mac Manu’s endorsement could not be divulged.

“This is a party issue. I don’t think it will serve any purpose to divulge issues. The most important thing is that we have given you the names of the team members,” he said.

The council, which is the highest decision-making body of the party, after Congress, has also decided to not interfere in the court process currently underway to pronounce on the credibility of the party’s parliamentary primaries in the Klottey Korle Constituency.
