Afoko Wasted His Time Going To Court - NPP B/A Regional Chair

The opposition NPP Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman, Mr. Asomah-Cheremeh has assured the suspended National Chairman of his party, Mr. Paul Afoko that the Extraordinary Conference of the party has no room to discuss personalities; himself (Afoko) included.

The suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) went to court and filed an ex-parte motion seeking to restrain the party from taking a decision on his outright removal from office.

But an Accra High Court Friday threw out an application by suspended Chairman of the New Patriotic Party seeking to stop the party from holding tomorrow’s Special Delegates Conference.

Reacting to the action of the suspension Chairman, Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show said the reason for going to court to seek injunction on the extraordinary conference is different from the agenda of the party for holding the conference.

He elaborated that nobody is going to the conference to discuss the suspended Chairman, Paul Afoko because “this is not a congress where we debate or engage in discussions”.

He again mentioned that the extraordinary conference of the NPP is a matter of outlining the agenda of the party for 2016 election.

Our purpose for conferencing in Sunyani is completely different from Afoko’s court injunction; there will be no time to discuss personalities”, he stressed.

He outlined that the extraordinary conference of the NPP will see the Acting National Chairman, Freddie Blay giving account of his stewardship; thus, the Acting General Secretary, John Boadu, National Treasurer, Abankwa and Sammy Awuku, the Youth Organizer will speak at the conference.

According to him, others billed to speak at the special conference is former President John Agyekum Kufuor and finally the Flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo will outdoor his campaign team for the 2016 election as well as the various Parliamentary candidates to officially launch the 2016 campaign.
