The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah who waded into the controversy over the spraying and branding of 116 buses, and directed the Attorney General's department ''to review the contract and associated payments' has been sent a note by the 2012 Independence Presidential Candidate, Jacob Osei Yeboah.

He writes…

Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff is one personality in the NDC government, that I admire so much and his assumption in that office of Chief of Staff has brought calmness in the NDC party and the government.

However, he has not been consistent in his attitude towards Smarttys Production, a Ghanaian woman’s company, caught at the controversies of branding buses.

Why is it that we did not see, such directives with AMERI?
I am not in any way justifying the merit or demerit of GHC3.6M ($1M) contract deal. But Ghanaians normally spend precious time and resources on insignificant or immaterial issues.

Before, the Attorney General, a woman as well will begin to chase Smarttys Production - may I remind her, where is Woyome GHC52M? Ghanaians will be better off if the AG’s office will review, KarPower and AMERI contracts. Smarttys did not use a gun for her to get the contract.

Why are we quick to destroy our own Ghanaian companies? I’ve had an interview, with Smarttys Production and I can confirm how professional they are among most journalists in the country.

It is equally, a great insult to Ghanaians, for the Minority Leader. Kyei Mensah to have the effrontery to say that Smarttys deal is “Naked Thievery”. What about AMERI and KARPOWER deals that, President Mahama, Diplomatically said “Parliament is sleeping”.

Parliament has no moral grounds to condemn a Ghanaian company’s deal but rather audaciously defend AMERI, a foreign company’s deal as OK.
The Media should rather concentrate on AMERI and KARPOWER deals and stop worrying a Ghanaian woman, after all, KarPower and AMERI were before Smarttys.

We love being black Crabs and hypocrites. Let me once again reiterate my point, that, I am not in any way justifying the merit or demerit of GHC3.6M ($1M) contract deal.

Let us be gentle with her and if there is anything Smarttys Company could do, she will act accordingly.
