NPP Will Still Fight For A New Voters Register John Boadu Assures

Acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu says the NPP has not abandoned its bid for a new voter’s register for the 2016 general elections.

Although other political parties believe there is absolutely nothing wrong with the existing register – the NPP argues that the voters’ register is not credible, hence there must be a change.

John Boadu who was speaking at the 15th Extraordinary National Delegates Conference of the NPP at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region noted: “The quest for a new voter’s register is not over. I repeat, the quest for a new voters register is not over.”

The acting chief scribe further said the party would soon begin a strong membership drive to have a new register and secure the NPP victory in the 2016 polls.

He added that the NPP would soon restart the issuance of ID cards, stalled in recent months in order to ensure the party has a proper database for its members.

However in a bid to resolve the new voters’ register brouhaha, the Electoral Commission set up a five-member committee and organized a forum to seek the views of all interested parties and civil society - the committee is yet to present its report.
