"The Ship Of State Is Sinking"...Our Responsibility Is To Save Ghana NPPs Acting Chairman

Acting National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay says the party’s responsibility now is to save Ghana from the Mahama-led administration's ‘wickedness’.

Blay told party faithfuls who have converged at the Sunyani Coronation Park for the party’s Extraordinary Delegates Conference, Saturday, that the NDC must be kicked out of government come 2016.

Let us arise for change by bringing all hands on deck. There are people who are anxious to see this corrupt and incompetent John Dramani Mahama and his NDC government kicked out. Let us identify them, streamline their contributions and get things done.

…The theme Arise for Change means the people of Ghana should rise up and take charge and be the drivers to change course from the wrong direction that John Mahama and his NDC government are recklessly taking the country to,” he said

Adding that – “The ship of State is sinking. We have the responsibility to save this second ship of our dear nation. We must make it our patriotic duty to contribute to the process that will lead to the voting out of the NDC in 2016.”

Freddie Blay however called for unity in the NPP to help win both the presidential and parliamentary election come 2016.

In his report, the Acting NPP Chair described as painful the indefinite suspension of his predecessor Paul Afoko.

According to him, following petitions filed by bona fide members of the party against Mr Afoko’s conduct and behaviour, the National Executive Committee (NEC) upheld a recommendation by the Disciplinary Committee to dispense with the party’s first-ever elected northern chairman.

…In accordance with our constitution, the committee unanimously decided, though painfully, to suspend indefinitely Mr Paul Awintame Afoko”, he told the gathering.
