NPP, NDC Charged To Maintain Peace Ahead Of 2016 Election

Renowned entrepreneur, businessman and Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Mr Samuel Amo Tobin has called on the two major political parties - the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) - to maintain the peace and stability in the country ahead of 2016 elections.

He said peace and stability create a healthy business environment, thereby creating more employment opportunities for the youth.

According to him, the two parties must ensure that nothing untoward happens in 2016, in view of the fact that many businesses will collapse in case of any upheaval.

He was speaking at the end-of-year thanksgiving service of the Tobinco Group of Companies at the Church of Pentecost, Dr Wyatt Assembly, at Newtown in Accra on Sunday.

Mr Amo Tobbin, who is also the Presiding Elder of the assembly, reiterated that it is only peace that could propel the country forward.

“If we have no peace in this country, it will be difficult to establish companies and be able to expand and employ people,” he noted.

He thanked the President for ensuring that the country continues to enjoy uninterrupted peace.

The business mogul expressed his profound gratitude to the Almighty God, the management and the entire staff of the various companies under the Tobinco Group for being part of the success story.

He described 2015 as “difficult but successful.”

He thanked God, elders of the Pentecost Church in Ghana, his workers and government for the successes chalked in 2015.

Mr Tobin spoke extensively about how God has been good to him in the midst of challenges.

“I’m grateful to authorities of the Pentecost Church for the prayer support during the difficult times; we are out of the woods and have been able to expand into several other areas,” he said.

From Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, Mr Tobin has established a lot more businesses, including Abii National, Priority Insurance, Entrance Pharmaceuticals and recently JAM Media Consult, which has outdoored Atinka FM and Aginkwa FM.

He donated GH¢20,000 to the assembly.

Preaching on the topic ‘Be a man after God’s own heart,’ the Apostle in charge of the La Area, Apostle Appiah Aidoo, appealed to Ghanaians to conduct themselves properly to remain under God’s protection.

“Everything you do should be done as if unto God and be careful not to become disloyal to those who God has placed over you,” he charged.

Explaining how David never raised his finger against Saul because he knew that God had appointed Saul as king, Apostle Aidoo charged workers of Tobinco to remain loyal to their employer and submit to their superiors.

David in the Bible, Apostle Appiah recalled, was a man after God’s own heart, adding that “he was very respectful and he knew that God had called him.”

He prayed for good prospects for the Tobinco Group of Companies and asked for long life for Mr Tobin.
