Ghana football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi believes banned FIFA boss Sepp Blatter has left a legacy despite his latest outlaw imposed on him by the ethics committee of the Federation of international football.
 
Blatter together with Uefa boss Michel Platini has been suspended for eight years from all football-related activities following an ethics investigation.

They were found guilty of breaches surrounding a £1.3m ($2m) "disloyal payment" made to Platini in 2011, a situation which will see them stay out of football until 2023.

Nyantakyi who has been in close relationship with Blatter after he was appointed on the FIFA executive committee says the Swiss has left a mark for himself despite his latest ignominy.

“As human as he is you don’t expect him to be perfect, obviously there will be pitfalls,” he spoke to TV3.

“These are shortcomings that have been identified.

“The sanctions have been applied but I think the legacy of Blatter still remains.

“He has done well for African football.”

Blatter who has been in office for the past 17 years had initially announced his decision to vacate the seat before going under investigation.

He was able to introduce the FIFA Goal project to Africa which has contributed immensely to the development of the game on the continent.
