Accept To Forgive And Live In Genuine Peace - Archbishop

The Primate and Archbishop of the Anglican Church of the Province of West Africa, the Most Reverend Dr. Daniel Yinkah-Sarfo, has urged Ghanaians to accept to forgive and forge ahead in unity as they joined the rest of the Christian world to celebrate the birth of the Messiah.

Christmas, he said, should remind everybody about the need for peace, genuine reconciliation, goodwill, sacrifice, tolerance and sharing, pointing out that, these were critical to the progress and transformation of the society.

People should simply reject the path of division – ethnocentrism and cronyism, alongside the evils of greed, selfishness and corruption.

Archbishop Yinkah-Sarfo said this in his Christmas and New Year message to the nation in Kumasi.

He underlined that the country and Africa now needed peace and unity more than ever, to stay the course of democratic development.

He touched on the coming general polls and encouraged all key political actors to work together in good faith to ensure that it was free, fair, transparent and credible.

Archbishop Yinkah-Sarfo referred to the successful elections held in Nigeria, Cote d’ Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Guinea and said Ghana could not afford to disappoint.

He rallied voters to make the right judgement by electing people who “are God-fearing, honest, disciplined, truthful and capable of delivering, to save Ghana from our predicaments”.

He asked that they put their trust in God and learned to do what was right and dignified.
