The local topflight is allowed to take off following rejection of an injunction charge by Tema Youth.
Second tier side Tema Youth have had their request to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) seeking to prevent the start of the 2015-2016 Ghana Premier League and the Division One League rejected.
According to a publication by Ghana FA, CAS has similarly rejected Youth�s second request for a stay of execution of the GFA�s Appeals Committee�s earlier ruling that threw out a charge against Dreams FC.
�The CAS rejected the request for a stay of execution and injunction by Tema Youth FC,� a portion of the GFA statement read.
�In its decision, the CAS arbitrator found in favour of the arguments advanced by the GFA that the conditions to grant the stay and the injunction were not met by Tema Youth FC, which means that, the case would not affect the start of the top two leagues of the GFA.�
Following a 2-0 victory by Dreams over Youth in the 2nd round of the 2014-15 Division One League, the latter filed a protest at the Disciplinary Committee against their opponents for allegedly fielding unqualified players.
Having been declared winners of the case at the Disciplinary Committee level, Dreams also came out victors following subsequent protests by Youth at the Appeals and Review levels.
Still aggrieved, Youth further pursued the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
� The commencement of the topflight could, however, still be delayed as the president of Techiman City FC, Charles Kwadwo Ntim, has threatened to file a charge at the CAS over a separate issue.
