Ashanti NPP Organise Thanksgiving Service

The Women’s Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ashanti Region has held a prayer and thanksgiving service to thank God for the life of their flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other leaders.

Dressed in their party colours and paraphernalia, the women drawn from the 47 constituencies of the region sang songs and prayed for health, knowledge and unity for the party leaders so as to be able to organise to win the 2016 general elections.

A special prayer was also said for the newly appointed Mac Manu-led National Campaign team and praised God for bringing them to the end of another year.

Speaking to Graphic Online after the three-hour well attended programme, the Ashanti Regional Women Organiser of the party, Nana Ama Ampomah said “we are in opposition, but as Christians we subscribe to the dictates of the holy bible that says that in all things we should give thanks to God”.

She explained the thanksgiving and prayers were to climax the weekly prayers and fasting by the women of the party as part of the moves to provide heavenly protection for the leaders and members of the party at all times.

“We will not wait to win elections before going down on our knees to thank God. We are grateful to God for how far he has brought. We know that we will be victorious to bring relief and accelerated development to the people of Ghana”, she said.

Sermon

Preaching the sermon, Rev Fredua Agyeman, said no organisation or institution could be successful without unity among its members and urged members of the party to put aside their individual differences.

He said they must deliberately agree and decide to work towards the ultimate goal of the party, which was to win the 2016 and form the next government.

Quoting from Amos 3:3 of the Holy Bible which says that “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Rev Minister urged the party members to agree and walk together for the good of the party.

Rev Agyeman assured the NPP members that, just as was recorded in Judges 20 about how the Israelites won the battle against the Benjamites after two consecutive defeats, the NPP would emerge victorious in 2016 after losing to the NDC in 2008 and 2012.
