This Is A Surprise....TB Joshua Warned Me But; - Ayittey Powers

It appears Ghana’s Cruiserweight division boxer, Ayittey Powers, born Michael Okine, always has an excuse up his sleeves anytime he is taught a lesson in the art of pugilism by his fiercest rival Braimah Issah Kamoko affectionately called Bukom Banku.

Powers was once again beaten in a recent bout at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Boxing Day – but says he disrespected his spiritual father in spite of a given revelation.

Dubbed “Repeat or Revenge”, the bout was a follow-up to the unanimous points’ victory Bukom Banku earned over his compatriot last year.

In that particular fight, Powers travelled the distance with Bukom Banku but lost after the three judges scored the bout 117-109, 119-100 and 120-108.

Ayittey Powers alias “What can come can come” – indeed tasted another painful defeat at the hands of Bukom Banku on Sunday, after the latter secured a technical knockout over him.

Powers failed to answer the bell for round 6 as he remained rooted to his corner, after Banku found his rhythm and unleashed a plethora of punches, uppercuts and jabs all over his face and body right from the second round through the subsequent rounds.

Referee Emmanuel Brenya had no choice than to declare the fight over and Braimah Kamoko the winner after 5 am on Sunday morning.

But speaking to JOY FM – Powers claimed he was warned by renowned Prophet J.B Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) to ignore the bout which he failed to do, perhaps owing to the juicy package involved.

He however asked for forgiveness from Prophet TB Joshua – “I don’t understand how it happened

The cruiserweight boxer said he dislocated a shoulder in the course of the fight – “This is a surprise to me,” he added.
