DCE Loses Daughter In Fire Outbreak

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gushegu in the Northern Region, Mr Alhassan Fuseini was greeted with double agony as he lost his eight-year-old daughter and a house to fire on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

The fire is said to have started in the DCE's house in Tamale at about 11pm.
His eight-year-old daughter died in the blaze while several property worth thousands of cedis were razed.Speaking on condition of anonymity to Graphic Online, an eye witness said when the incident happened, the DCE’s first wife identified only as Madam Ayi and three other children managed to escape the fire. The now deceased girl however could not make it out through the raging fire.

According to the eye witness, although some residents in the neighbourhood tried to put out the fire, all the items in the room were reduced to ashes before the arrival of personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

Meanwhile, all attempts to speak to the DCE has proved futile as he has chosen to remain silent over the issue. However, personnel from the GNFS have confirmed the incident to Graphic Online and said investigations have started to establish the cause of the fire.
