Girl, 14, Electrocuted At Sekondi

A 14-year-old junior high school student at Whindow, a suburb of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Area (STMA), has been electrocuted.

Information indicates that she visited a friend in her vicinity in the afternoon and got electrocuted whilst leaning against a window in the friend's house.

The deceased, Epo Efua, was laid to rest after a solemn burial service yesterday afternoon.

Her mother, Maame Wu, explained in an interview that she had singlehandedly taken care of the girl from birth till her demise on Monday.

According to her, the father of the girl refused to accept responsibility for the pregnancy when she conceived.

The weird aspect of the whole story is that the family refused to take the body to the mortuary or report to the police for autopsy, but rather sent the mortal remains home after she was declared dead on arrival at the Jemmimah Crentsil Hospital in Kwesimintsim.

A police CID from Kwesimintsim, name withheld, visited the funeral grounds and claimed he went to conduct investigations at where the incident happened.
