Chief Imam Calls For Peace Ahead Of Election 2016

Residence of National Chief Imam, New Fadama, Accra - welcomed executives of the pressure group Let My Vote Count Alliance [LMVCA] to discuss how to curtail a possible tension that might emanate ahead of the 2016 election.

The Pressure group before indicated that it will stage massive demonstrations to force the Electoral Commission (EC) to compile a new voters' register.

This comes on the back of the latest decision by the EC to reject calls for a new voters' register, adding that the pro-NPP group has not provided enough and convincing evidence to suggest that the current register is not credible.

The group last year held a huge protest on the need for a new voters' register which ended up chaotic.

However, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu advised the group to help maintain peace before, during and after the November elections.

The eminent chief also commended the convener of LMVCA, David Asante for his outstanding works for Ghana.

“I pray almighty Allah blesses your group and shower his Blessings on the work you do for Ghana because you serving mother Ghana,” Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu craved

He added that – “May your hard work of fighting for a new register be blessed by almighty Allah because you are serving mother Ghana and we all need peaceful elections”
