Driver Of GNFS Escapes The Wrath of Fire Victims

Seidu Video Center, Drinking bar and houses of Kwadwo Budu, NPP Polling Station Executive, Eric Stores, under the GM bank and five other houses, all at Donkorkrom in Afram Plains were razed down by fire on 27th December, 2015, a period when most people were making do with the little they have dispute the financial difficulty the nation has been plunged to coupled with the ‘dum-sor, dum-sor.

 This unfortunate incident was between speaking to Daily Searchlight about this, Kwadwo Budu, a victim of the fire disaster and his brother, Stephen Asiedu a spare parts seller at Abossey Okai who had gotten to Donkorkrom on a visit said kwadwo Budu did not open his shop on the day. With his brother from Accra, they had visited some friends, made merry and had gone to rest in a room reserved for the brother.

Kwadwo Budu and Stephen Aseidu said no sooner had they gotten to their resting place than the information gotten to them that Kwadwo Budu’s store and home was on fire. The brothers quickly drove back only to see the house in flames. They said fire destroyed everything in the store and house of Kwadwo Budu and then a Video centre operated by one Seidu.

Five other houses including Eric store (spare parts shop) on the ground floor of the two-storey building on which GM back operates were also completely destroyed. The victims of the fire said they heaved a sigh of relief when they saw the on-coming fire tender but when the vehicle got there it had no water.

The brothers said the workers of Ghana National Fire Service were then received with insults and accusation of making business by selling water they often fill into the tender. Some people started hurling stones at the personnel and the fire tender. Daily Searchlight gathered that said this caused the driver of the fire tender to speedily drive of the fire tender to speedily drive tender away with his colleagues who went to a hide out to avoid the attack and destruction of the fire tender by the angry mob.
