Hearts of Oak urged to review recruitment policy

A former Phobians chief has questioned the team’s current recruitment policy ahead of the new campaign.

Former Hearts of Oak board secretary Ernest Thompson claims the team’s current recruitment policy could affect the club as they prepare to return to winning ways in the new season.

The Accra-based side is yet to sign a top player ahead of the new campaign and have not been impressive in their preseason activities.

"I don’t know the structures the current management is using, but during our time we usually sit down with the coach. There was a recruitment policy and we worked together but I don’t know what is being done now,” Thompson told Nhyira FM.

"What I do hope is that the CEO and the rest know what they are doing and what they’re willing to do.

"But you can only hope if you’re confronted your view will be accepted to help sort out whatever problem they’re having. Notwithstanding, I just hope that the team have success."

However, the club’s management has refuted media reports that coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi would be replaced before the season starts.

Hearts failed to progress from the group stage at the maiden edition of the G6 tournament after drawing goalless with Aduana and losing1-0 to Medeama.
