Man Grabbed With Large Quantities Of Roadworthy Certificates

A 40-year old man is in the grips of police for allegedly possessing large quantities of road worthy stickers which he concealed in the wardrobe of his late mother.

Morris Adade Ansah was arrested by the Ministries branch of DOVVSU following a fight that ensued between him and his siblings when he opened the wardrobe to remove the stickers after the demise of their mother.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Patrick Adusei Sarpong, the Director-General in charge of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) said the suspect was grabbed on Wednesday, January 13.

He said after the burial, of their mother, Ansah decided to open the wardrobe, in front of his siblings who discovered large quantities of fake road worthy stickers, large number of fuel coupons, and national insurance commission stickers.

According to him, when Ansah was questioned by his siblings, he claimed ownership of the items and demanded the item should be handed over to him.

That resulted in an argument between Anah and his siblings who reported the matter to the police.

ACP Sarpong said during investigations, it was revealed that the said items were not genuine.

He said Ansah is now being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Accra for forgery.
