I Am Mentally Sound, I Lied To Save My Children - Joyce Dzidzor Mensah Claims

She has been controversial with her status as HIV-AIDS patient over the years – and recently has said sorry to President Mahama and Ghanaians for public denial of her status.

Former Ghana’s AIDS ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah is again in the news pleading for forgiveness from all after she lied to ‘save’ her children from stigmatization.

“My heart broken and apology letter to President John Mahama, to all schools and churches, to all institutions and the media in Ghana and abroad who have hosted me to educate them with my HIV story I lied about my HIV status to protect my children. I test positive to HIV in the year 2007.

“…Love for my children and fear for the future concerning HIV related stigma compelled me to publicly deny my HIV status putting the entire world in the state of shock,” she said in a Facebook post.

Earlier, Mrs Joyce Dzidzor Mensah denied strongly that she has never contracted the deadly virus and made it public that – the Ghana AIDS Commission forced her to declare that she is HIV positive as an agreement to create awareness.

But in her recent admission on NEAT FM’s morning show dubbed Ghana Montie to be HIV positive, questions have been raised as to whether Joyce Dzidor Mensah is of a sound mind.

Speaking to NEAT FM’s morning show host, Kwesi Aboagye, she noted that, although she was frustrated before, she is mentally sound.

“There is nothing wrong with my mind, I am okay, I am mentally sound. I lied to save my children,” she said.
