FC Copenhagen coach bid farewell to Daniel Amartey ahead of imminent move to Leicester City

FC Copenhagen coach Stale Solbakken has hinted at Daniel Amartey’s imminent departure from the Club.
 
Amartey is set to join English Club Leicester City in a fee ranging between £5m and £6m.

The 21-year-old is currently awaiting his work permit to join the Premiership club who have been in pursuit of the defender for some time now.

The highly-rated center-back is expected to join the English Club by the end of the week after Leicester City and Copenhagen officials reached an agreement on a fee.

Solbakken who has relied on the Ghanaian international has bid farewell to his star man ahead of his impending move to the English Premier League.

"Daniel has been a role model and a key player for us, and he has improved dramatically and faster than anyone could have expected," FC Copenhagen manager Stale Solbakken said.

"He has handled his success and all the attention extremely well, and it is a dream come true for him to play in the Premier League for a club who have targeted him for a longer period.

"We wish Daniel all the best in the Premier League and we are sure he will have a great career."

The defender who can also be used as a defensive midfielder will given defensive options to Leicester City coach Claudio Renieri who has solely relied on ageing duo Wes Morgan and Robert Huth.
