Man Allegedly Tormented By Spirit To Commit Suicide

A 41-year-old farmer, Bismark Kwaku Obeng, has committed suicide after allegedly being tormented by a spirit.

The farmer, from Sefwi-Ankramoano near Sefwi-Anhwiaso in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai District of the Western Region, reportedly killed himself after sharing with his family his experience with bad spirits whenever he sleeps.

The deceased told his family two weeks ago about the sleepless nights he was experiencing due to some forces orchestrating his encounter with the spirits.

An eyewitness said he was subsequently sent to Evangelical Prayer Camp in the area for healing.

According to him, the farmer spent 10 days at the camp and was considered healed. Unfortunately, after his return home, he complained of his missing money.

It, however, emerged that his children used the money to buy a cell phone.

This created serious misunderstanding between Mr Bismark Kwaku Obeng and his wife and children.

The family, upon sensing danger, left the house without informing Bismark Kwaku Obeng.

Information indicates that when Kweku Obeng could not establish the whereabouts of his money, he rushed to his mother’s house to give his remaining GH₵2,000 to her for safekeeping.

He returned home, entered his room and shot himself with a locally made pistol.

The wife, who had left the house with the children, returned home only to see the door locked. Upon opening the door, she saw the lifeless body of her husband in a pool of blood.

She then quickly rushed to notify the police in the area.

The Police Commander for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Superintendent Nana Kumi, and his men then visited the scene to ascertain what took place, and the body of the deceased was subsequently sent to the Bibiani Government Hospital for autopsy.
