ECG To Compensate Customers Affected With Miscalculation of Units Purchased B/N 13th to 31st Dec.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has pledged to compensate customers affected by the miscalculation of hikes in utility tariffs between the 14th to 31st of December last year.

Speaking on JOY FM news, the Public Relations Officer of ECG, William Boateng stated; “those that came to purchase around the 14th to 31st of December are the persons who would require some calculation and refund after reconciliation have been done by the authorities involved.”

 “..As I speak 289,444 customers have already received their refunds out of 333,902 persons affected with this…,” he added.

According to him, the company has refunded an amount of about Ghc3.1m, showing how fulfilling they are to redeem their promise made to the public.

 However, he stated that it is only individuals who came to purchase prepaid units between 14th to 31st of December who are entitled to this refund.
