Truck Crashes Into Mawuli School

A heavy-duty truck fully loaded with cement, caused panic among residents of Ho-Heve in the evening on Monday, when its brakes failed while heading towards the Rev. Trost Street, causing it to run backwards at top speed into the perimeter fence of Mawuli School.

This happened eight days after a Benz bus ran down the Galenku Hill and fell on its side, near the walls of the OLA Girls Senior High School (SHS), killing three people on board.

Non one was injured in Monday’s accident, which occurred at about 8pm.

There were three people on board the long vehicle, with registration number AS 9969-F.

The vehicle was travelling from Tema with the cement for delivery to retailers in northern Ghana.

However, the driver, who was unfamiliar with the route, drove through Sogakope to Aflao before diverting the vehicle to Ho when he realized that he was on the wrong course.

As at yesterday (Wednesday) the truck was still at the scene with one half of it on the school premises and the other half on the street.
