NPP Prepares To Re-Run Klottey Korle Primary

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it is preparing to organise a re-run of the parliamentary primaries in the Klottey Korle constituency.

This is after a court ruling that ordered the party to re-run the primary after one of the defeated aspirant, Philip Addison challenged the results of the earlier poll.

Nii Noi Nortey emerged winner of the first primary in which Philip Addison and another aspirant Nii Adjei Tawiah boycotted saying the process was flawed.

Meanwhile speaking to Citi News, Director of elections for the NPP, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah said a date will be set for the election soon.

“We want to quickly get them done and of with it. Let me mention that it’s not only Klottey Korle, we also have Manhyia North, Kumawu and Kwesimintsim, all three which have been boxed down by court issues.”

He said “there is also Ablekuma West in Accra and the legal committee is working around these to bring it to a closure. Part of the confusion was miscommunication the last time round, that’s and internal matter. We hope to add that one to the resolution that we want to do put them together as one family even before the go into the election.”
