Nursing officer installed Tofohen in Enyan Maim

A 57 year-old Ghanaian Public Health Nurse based in London has been installed Tufuhen (sub chief) of Enyan-Maim Traditional Area, under the stool name Nana Efua Obirboa Krampa I. Nana Krampa known in private life as Madam Philomena Poku succeeded Nana Atta who was distooled two years ago. Her installation took place at a ground durbar of the chiefs and people of the town to commemorate their Akwambo festival held last Saturday. Earlier in the day, Nana Krampa was carried in a palanquin, paraded through the principal streets of the town amidst Asafo drumming and dancing. She later took the oath of allegiance and of office, before the chiefs and the people, promising to work in collaboration with them towards the development of the area. Nana Krampa appealed to parents in the area to invest their resources in education, since it was key to development. The District Chief Executive for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Mr Light Koomson appealed to the chiefs and land owners in the district to release land for agriculture activities. He said as part of efforts to reduce the unemployment rate in the district, the assembly in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has decided to train youth groups on modern agricultural method. He said after the training the assembly will plough some land and give the youth input and financial assistance, adding that repayment of the loan would be made after harvesting. Mr Cassiel Ato Forson, Member of Parliament for the area, later donated cash of GH� 5,000.00 as his contribution towards the construction of a modern market complex in the town.
