Twins Die In Fire

Two-and-a-half-year old twins, Kingsley Meveda and Kingsford Meveda, Wednesday morning met their untimely death in a blaze at Kenten in the Techiman municipality of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The incident, which happened around 8:30 am, beats the imagination of fire personnel and people around because it was not in the night for the fire authorities to suspect unquenched candle or mosquito coil as the cause.

According to information gathered by DAILY GUIDE, the mother of the twines, Joyce Issah, left the children in a 5-bedroom apartment to go and buy porridge for their breakfast only to hear neighbours screaming fire! Fire!

All efforts by people around to retrieve the children from the ferocious fire were unsuccessful. Fire fighters were later called in but they arrived too late. Officers fought the fire but to no avail. The two children, the entire building and other belongings were completely consumed by the blaze.

Meanwhile, fire officers suspect electrical fault and are blaming landlords for using unqualified electricians to wire their houses. Meanwhile, the Sunyani police said they had begun investigations into it to ascertain the cause of death as the Fire Service personnel also establish the cause of the fire.

The bodies of the boys have been deposited at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital for autopsy.
