Ghana National Trust Fund lacks funds

The Eastern Regional Organiser of Ghana National Trust Fund (GNTF) Mr Samuel Apraku-Yeboah has expressed worry about the lack of funds to work.

He said due to economic constrains, most organisations have relented in their bid to support the Trust Fund.

Mr Apraku-Yeboah, who disclosed this in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Koforidua, explained that the objective of the Fund is to render financial aid to charitable and social organisations.

He therefore called on the government, NGOs and other philanthropist to come to the aid of GNTF.

The GNTF was established by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of the Republic of Ghana in 1958.

It serves as a voluntary fund for persons with disabilities, orphans and various youth organisation.

Since the overthrow of Dr Nkrumah in 1966, GNTF has lost its values as a charitable organisation.
