NDC MPs Boy Shoots Son of NPP organizer

Asuafu Badu, a town in the Tain Constituency is in a state of shock following a shooting incident that was carried out by the son of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.

Kwame, the MP’s son, is reported to have caused the incident with a pump action gun, Monday afternoon.

His action is reported to have caused injury to one Eric Obour in the process.

The victim is believed to be the son of the Women’s Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the constituency.

The MP’s son, 22, has since been arrested by the Police.

The Wenchi District Police Commander, DSP Twum Barimah, when contacted by Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Kasapa FM confirmed the incident.

According to him, Kwame, without any authorization from the father, took the pump action gun and while fidgeting with it, pulled the trigger.

“He took the gun from the father’s room not knowing it was loaded. So, while fidgeting with it, he pulled the trigger and the stray bullet caused injury to Eric Obuor”, he noted.

DSP Twum Barimah described the injury as a minor one, noting that the victim has since been treated at the hospital in Nsorkor and discharged.

He said the MP, together with his son, has since been invited by the Police where their statements have been taken.

“We can’t process them to court now because of the privileges the MP enjoys. So, we are going to send the docket to the Attorney-General for advice”.

He added that the pump action gun is a registered weapon that has all the necessary documentations.
