NDC May Be Under A Curse Of Corruption - Nana Akomea

Director of Communications for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot escape the tag of corruption hanging around their neck like an albatross, so long as the founder of the party, Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings share such thoughts.

According to him, Mr Rawlings has a point when he lamented quite recently that 60 percent of thieves are in government and also hold position in NDC when transactions involving bus branding, GYEEDA, SUBA and SADA did not follow procurement laws.

Nana Akomea averred that the opposition NPP is in agreement with President Rawlings as corruption under the current administration has become pervasive.

“President Rawlings brought NDC into Ghana politics and when you listen to him on what he has said about his own party, it will amaze you; he said last year that 60 percent of thieves are in government and also hold position in NDC . . . corruption today is no longer a practice but has become a pervasive culture,” he hinted.

He was of the view that the NDC may be under a curse of corruption; wondering why the ruling party is worried that the NPP and the media are commenting on corruption within government.

“What are they telling us? I don’t know whether NDC is under a curse or not. If they are indeed exposing and fighting corruption, why are they worried that we are talking about it? It should be in their favor if they are fighting corruption and the media is highlighting it,” he argued.

He was speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show.
