Ghanaians Should Mind Their Speech In Connection To Agogo Saga Security Expert Cautions

Security Analyst, Emmanuel Sowatey has cautioned Ghanaians to be mindful of their utterances made concerning the feud between residents of Agogo and Fulani Herdsmen.

He pointed out that “it is very critical for Ghanaians to brand Fulanis as non-Ghanaians as some have been in Ghana before the country gained independence.”

Meaning it gingers people to take certain action, which may not be the best to solve the issues at hand.

According to him peace cannot prevail in Agogo if there is no unity among the residents, chiefs and other authorities needed for peace to be sustained.

He said the Fulanis have good aspects of them that we can tap for national development, so it is up to us as citizens to have a consistent engagement with them.

Mr. Sowatey in an interview with Peace FM News encouraged that if government could help the region to get a system in place that can store water for use in the dry seasons, it could curb this problem from happening in years to come.

“It is not the ultimate responsibility of the police to prevent the fight between the Fulanis and the residents of Agogo,” he added.
