Socialist Forum Of Ghana Present Books To The Presidency

Members  of  the  organizing committee of  the  8th Pan-‐African Congress on  Wednesday  presented  a  rare  collection  of  Pan-‐African  literature  to  the  Presidency.

They included books authored by Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, such as Africa Must Unite, Dark Days in Ghana, Axioms of Nkrumah and Neo-‐colonialism –the Last  Stage  of  Imperialism.

Making  the  presentation  to  the  Chief  of  Staff, the  chairman  of the  committee, Mr. Kwesi  Pratt  Jnr, said  it  was  a  great privilege to  donate  the  books  of  Dr  Kwame Nkrumah  to  the  Presidency at  the  Flagstaff  House,  which  was  both  the  home and office of the  first  president.

Mr  Pratt  said  the  legacy  project  of  the  8th Pan-‐African Congress  is already distributing  the  books  to  all  tertiary education institutions, public  libraries  and state institutions, including parliament.

He described  the  collection  as “extremely  valuable  books  about Africa’s  history, culture  and values”,  among  others.

For his  part,  the  Chief  of  Staff,  Mr  Julius  Debrah,  thanked  the committee for embarking  on  a  project  to  rekindle  the  values  of Dr  Nkrumah  and Pan-‐Africanism.

Mr. Debrah said the books would be a good reminder of the values and aspirations of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
