Even Grammy Winners Like Kanye Are Not Given $7m . . . So Why Somebody? NDC Dep Gen Sec Quizzes

He might be rated as a ‘A-class’ artiste in Ghana with both local and international awards – but that doesn’t earn him any ‘respect’ from the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC].

Regardless how much he charges for just a show, Michael Owusu Addo, known by his stage name as Sarkodie is regarded by the NDC as just a ‘local champion’ whose effort to pull crowd can’t earn him $7million [28,209,825.81 GHS] endorsement deal from the ‘Umbrella’ fraternity as speculated.

It was alleged that the ‘Money no be problem’ rapper has received $7million from the NDC-Mahama campaign team to compose a campaign song for them in this year’s polls.

The BET award winner has denied strongly the rumor by saying – “if they [NDC] have that much to spend please I need the Lashibi road sorted ASAP”.

In an interview with Shaft FM in Obuasi, the NDC scribe rubbished the rumour and even knowledge of the alleged story

But the deputy General Secretary of the NDC, George Lawson has noted that such an amount wouldn’t even be spent on the likes of American rapper Kanye West– so why somebody?

“We have not started our campaign . . . but it doesn’t make sense. Those saying this I am sure maybe they have to take them to the psychiatric hospital to check . . .Grammy award winners are not even given that amount to produce one song,” he said in an interview with Shaft FM's Agudey Akwasi.
