Respect Party Structures PPP Advises Members

Leadership of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has denied media reports of neglecting its members at the national level.

According to the party, the recent press conference held by some PPP members in Wa in the Upper West region to complain about neglect from the national executive was un-“characteristic of the party,” calling for a respect of the PPP’s structures.

In a statement signed and issued by the party’ National Secretary, Mr. Murtala Mohammed and copied to Today in Accra yesterday, the PPP stressed: “We pride ourselves as a disciplined people in a seriously focused party, voluntarily working together in the national interest.”

He placed on record that the allegations thrown into the air during the Wa press conference were simply “unfounded and untrue.”

According to the statement, the PPP has its own internal mechanism by which internal problems and misunderstandings are solved amicably.

He stated that to jump into the media without channeling grievances through the structures of the party was a “grievous offense” and should not be encouraged by the party.

He disclosed that the party has directed the 3rd Vice Chairman to investigate and report to the National Committee for final determination of the matter.

To this end, he called on the rank-and-file of the party; especially those in the Upper West region, to be rest assured that the PPP would resolve the matter within its structures.

He also assured that the bright, red sun will continue to shine in the Upper West region.
