CPP To Offer Golden Green Age Of Opportunity Greenstreet

The Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, has disclosed that a CPP government will unleash a ‘Golden Green Age’ of opportunity for all Ghanaians.

Elaborating on the party’s campaign theme for the 2016 general election at a rally held in the Kumbungu constituency in the Northern Region last Friday, Mr Greenstreet said under his government, Ghana would experience a period of unmatched transformation and development because the nation would take absolute control of its natural resources and derive great earnings from them.

Vision

Explaining his vision, he said his set targets would be achieved by greater state intervention and the wealth and opportunities gained would benefit all the people.

He said the forefront of his plan to improve business would be indigenous Ghanaian business enterprises that would be given total support and advantage, he stated.

“For too long we have sat down to watch multi-national companies and foreign enterprises access all our resources and contracts whilst their nations get richer and ours poorer,” he said.

In this regard, he indicated that many of “the manufacturing enterprises that had been closed down would be resuscitated where there were still clear comparative advantages. This would generate opportunities for youth employment and training.”

With respect to agriculture, he said a ‘Ghana Goes Green’ system would be introduced, utilising technology which would create employment through new economic activities in the smallest of villages nationwide. That, according to him, would reduce the continued massive and debilitating rural-urban migration.

The CPP flag bearer stated that details of what he described as the ‘New Deal’ or ‘Sacred Covenant’ would be made known to the people of Ghana through an interactive People’s Manifesto.

New CPP

The Chairman and Leader of the party, Professor Edmund Delle, promised a new CPP that was united with a determined focus to wrest political power.

He said while there was still widespread poverty, disease and illiteracy, we all had to fight hard to save Ghana and offer hope to the youth and women.

The flag bearer visited the Central and “Afa-Ajura” mosques in Tamale to thank the almighty Allah for his victory in becoming the presidential candidate of the CPP. He also showed gratitude to the Muslims gathered for their prayers in bringing him thus far.

The entourage, included the National Chairman and Leader - Prof. Edmund Delle, the First Vice National Chairperson – Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim, National Organiser – Emmanuel K. Ogborjor, National Women’s Organiser – Hajia Aisha Sulley Futa, Director of Communications – Kadiri Abdul Rauf, James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr (aka Kabila), Nana Frimpomaa, Mamshie Omar Bawa, Rashid Alao, Kwame Yeboah and Isaac Winful Dadzie and they continued their journey to the Upper East Region.
