Tafo Conflict Reduces School Attendance

The Director of Pentecostal Life Educational Complex, Pastor Daniel Anane Preprah, has said the uneasy clash between the Tafo Traditional Council (TTC) and Muslim community last Wednesday, which has resulted in the closure of schools, has affected the budget they use to run the school.

He said their curriculum structure has been affected, and they will be compelled to change it, since the incident happened out of blue. Teachers have to re-strategise on how to meet their time table targets till the end of the academic calendar.

“Above all, the students who are due to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be affected,” he said.

According to the School Director, the incident has also affected school attendance, stressing that they have a population of well over 600 students, buy only 111 students turned up for school last Thursday, a development, he bemoaned, had affected their monetary policies.

He explained to The Chronicle that the canteen fees, which are paid by the pupils, are the money they use to pay the remuneration of their teachers, stressing that the unrest has made the school financially handicapped.
