MCE Commends Media For Contributing To Development

Mr Samuel Atukwei Quaye, Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, has commended the media for their contribution to national development.

He said the media coverage on developmental projects initiated by the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies had helped the people to know the kind of projects being undertaken in the urban and rural areas.

Mr Quaye said this at a get-together organised for the media on Monday by the Ga West Municipal Assembly at Afiaman, near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

Journalists from the Ghana News Agency, the Ghanaian Times, the Graphic Communications Group, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Joy FM, Peace FM, Radio Gold, Oman FM, UTV, and TV3 attended the programme.

Mr Quaye said since his appointment as MCE by President John Mahama two years ago, the municipality had seen a lot of developmental projects.

He mentioned the renovation of the Amasaman Clinic into a hospital, the construction of Ofankor Hospital with a Dental Department, Physiotherapy, X-ray, and Laboratory to serve the people of Ofankor, Amamoley and other communities in the municipality.

Mr Quaye said the President’s model senior high school was ongoing at Akraman whilst extra classrooms with ancillary facilities were being provided at Ofankor St. Peters and Amasaman M/A School under the Awoshie-Pokuase Community Development Projects.

He said Omanjor, Kojo-Ashong, Samsam, Fise, and Kpobikope would be provided with pre-school facilities and that the Assembly would continue with the provision of roads and markets in the municipality.

The MCE expressed gratitude to the media and called on them to go ahead to promote the work of the Assembly for the public to appreciate the efforts of the Government in improving the lives of the people.
