Dr Spio-Garbrah Charges His Various Fan Clubs To Win More Support For Prez Mahama

As the November 7, 2016 elections draw nearer, the various friends of Dr. Spio-Garbrah have been asked to go all out to campaign for President John Mahama and his Vice President Amissah-Arthur to win the 2016 general elections.

According to Mr. Isaac Kofi Ahimah, the Coordinator of the various Fan Clubs of Spio-Garbrah, they are in agreement with the Minister of Trade and Industry for the thousands of other 'Friends of Spio' sprinkled across the countryside and overseas to maximize their efforts to support President Mahama.

Speaking to the media in a Press Conference at the International Press Center, Mr. Kofi Ahimah assured that as they campaigned in the previous election in 2008 for the late Prof. John Atta-Mills and in the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections, they have once again begun mobilizing resources to support the party’s campaign in the upcoming elections.

He disclosed that promotional materials such as: T-shirts, car stickers, leaflets, solar lamps and cash will be mobilized to assist the campaign of President John Dramani Mahama in order to increase the visibility of the NDC.

“Members of Spio-Garbrah Fan Clubs have been tasked to engage with voters and to project the good works of President Mahama’s government. We are also reaching out to some of the NDC grassroots sympathizers who feel that the NDC party and or government has not done much for them, as well as to convince non-NDC partisans to support Team Mahama.

“It is therefore our primary objective to win support for the President, particularly amongst persons who are hitherto not NDC sympathizers but who may be affiliated with other political parties, such as CPP, PNC, PPP and even within the main opposition party, NPP . . . there are many who are not happy with recent developments in that party and are ready to listen to the message that 'Friends of Spio' are bringing to them,” he averred.

He again mentioned that 'Friends of Spio' are ready to align their campaign activities and integrate relevant aspects of their work to the broad campaign thrust of the party once the NDC launches its Manifesto and President Mahama announces his campaign team.

He apparently indicated at the press conference that the 'Spio-Garbrah Fan Clubs' have taken the initiative to begin their mobilization efforts earlier.

“We are of the belief that if all prominent members of the NDC, such as former and current ambassadors, former and current Ministers and other former and current appointees all start early to mobilize their various friends and informal fan clubs, and get down to the constituencies, branches and wards to stimulate the rank and file of the party, election 2016 will be a done deal for the NDC,” he said.
