Hon. Henry Kokofu, NPP Member of Parliament for Bantama says Electoral Commissioner Charlotte Osei should vacate her office if she cannot execute her task effectively.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Hon. Henry Kokofu urged Madam Charlotte Osei to put her tools down if the task given to her by Ghanaians is too huge.

According to him, Madam Charlotte Osei's capacity as EC Chairperson is to serve Ghanaians and not perceive the Commission as autonomous.

Henry Kokofu was commenting on the 18-member Elections Steering Committee set up by the Electoral Commission (EC) to assist the Commission in running the November 7 general elections.

Several people and political actors have complained bitterly about some members on the Committee with some critics requesting an immediate dissolution of the Committee.

Addressing the issue on 'Kokrokoo', Henry Kokofu questioned the logic in setting up the Steering Committee.

He called on the Commission to heed the demands by the 'Let My Vote Count Alliance' pressure group for the Commission to reconsider her decision, stating that "if the work is huge and Madam Charlotte, you think that it’s over and above you and your Commissioners; instead of setting up a kangaroo Steering Committee, leave the job Ghanaians have entrusted to you for bold people to take over.”
