Samira Bawumia On Husband's Brains...

Wife of the Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Alhajia Mrs. Samira Bawumia has stated that his husband, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not a prophet as Ghanaians would say he is, but he just uses his brains to predict the economic crises the country is facing and will face when the right economic structures are not in place.

“Some people call my husband a prophet. He is just doing what he has been trained to do. There are brains that can see that bad decisions can impact us poorly and he points it out to them but they refuse to listen only for his words to come true,” Mrs Bawumia emphasised.

Mrs. Bawumia further stated that the NPP has instituted the economic management team and the brains to steer the economy of Ghana and added that the Mahama led National Democratic Congress, NDC administration has failed the country woefully and therefore, Ghana had no business going through austerity measures to recover.

“After eight years, what we say is enough is enough. Ghana must work again. We have to draw our country back on course. They inherited an economy that was middle income so we have no business saying that we have to go through austerity just to come back to produce again.” She stressed.

Alhajia Mrs. Samira Bawumia while addressing the Women’s Wing of the Tertiary Confederation of the NPP, TESCON-NPP at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Sunday, February 21, 2016 said.

She encouraged the students to be politically active and get themselves involved in the process of choosing national leaders because the ability of graduates to get jobs after school depends on the decision taken by the leadership of a country.

“Today, a lot of students want to be politically neutral. I say why is that? Why don’t you be politically active? Why don’t you take active steps in the process that chooses your next leader? Why are we going to school? We are looking for jobs when we finish school. Our ability to get a job depends on the leadership we have in our country.”

“When our government goes sign a deal with the IMF to freeze employment that is your job the government has gone to freeze. When the NDC mismanages the economy and they are forced to go for a bailout and they come with conditionality like increase in utility bills, it affects the quality of education.” She bemoaned.

Mrs. Bawumia charged the KNUST TESCON-NPP members to be the canvassing base of the party by earning a new soul for the NPP everyday to change the destiny of Ghana by spreading the good news of the promise the NPP have for the youth of the country and the nation as a whole.

She eulogised the flag bearer of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo as “a leader, a man of vision, incorruptible and courageous and as such the leader who can change the destiny of the nation, who will serve the nation and not the nation serving his pocket.”

“NDC has expired. Their time is over. A new dawn is coming. I want you to join us. I want you to lead the charge. This is a revolution of the young people of this country. In all success of the big economies like Malaysia and China, it took one generation that decided to do things differently. I want our generation to do better to show that it can be done by choosing the right leader,” She concluded.
