There Is No Automatic Choice For Black Stars - Abukari Damba

The former Black Stars goalkeeper Abukari Damba, has said there is no first choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars, though Razak Braimah seemed to have dominated the line up in recent times.

Damba made this known when Football for Water (F4W) and the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) commissioned Football for Wash Project at the Ashaiman Cluster of schools.

The ex-stars goalie in an interview with GNA Sports, said he was not sure Brimah and Fatau Dauda were a definite choices for the stars upcoming qualifier against Mozambique.

“Football is full of uncertainties that is why you must spread your tentacles wide as a coach, for now  these are the goalkeepers we have, but i dont think any of them will be an automatic choice for the team.

"Much will depend on their performance at training. They have to justify why they deserve call ups and why they should be maintained as a first choice or second choice goalkeepers of the national team.” He stated.

Damba was also of the view that, the selection of these two goalies for the game, will be based on the aims of the technical team, “it is also down to whether these goalkeepers when selected will help the coaches achieve their aim.”

Black Stars come up against Mozambique in their next qualifier.
