GFA Sends Goodwill Message To Medeama FC

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the FA Cup Committee (FACC) have urged Medeama Sporting Club to fight hard to secure a good result against Al Ittihad Tripoli in their Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederation Cup first leg tie in Tunisia on Sunday.

Mr. Kurt E. S. Okraku, chairman of FACC, urged Medeama to draw inspiration from their impressive African debut two years ago to ensure a good away result on Sunday.

In a statement, Mr Okraku said "Though you will be playing away, we have confidence in you as the proud winners of two MTN FA Cup competitions in 2013 and 2015, that you will make yourself and the nation proud in Tunisia on Sunday".

"We also believe that the experience gained from your first continental campaign in the same competition two years ago, would inspire you to excel against the Libyans this time round." He noted.

Medeama FC have been charged to use the advantage of playing on a neutral ground to record a good results to make the return leg an easy task.

MTN, the title sponsor of the FA Cup, is supporting Medeama's African campaign with GhC60, 000, while the club's main sponsor, Gold Fields Ghana Limited, is the chief financier of the trip.

The match is to be played in Tunisia as a neutral ground as advised by CAF due to the political unrest in Libya.
