Beauty Queen Wins JCR President

A Finalist of 2014 Ghana’s Most Beautiful, GMB, Carla Bongkoyire Cornelius, was last week voted the new JCR President of Africa Hall, a female residential hall at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Carla, who is a Level 200 student, beat her contender, Anowa Augustina, with a total of the 70.53% of the valid votes cast, to emerge winner with a landslide victory.

After her landslide victory, Carla who was known as Lamine during the GMB competition, expressed her gratitude on her various social media platforms.

“Saying ‘thank you’ to my numerous supporters isn’t enough. For the confidence they have reposed in me, I promise my administration will work hard to provide solutions to the numerous challenges that our hall is facing”, she posted on her social media platform.

Lamine came into the limelight after participating in the eighth edition of TV3's Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) pageant in 2014. Her sterling performance during the competition earned her a deal as a brand ambassador for textile company, GTP and she featured in their various TV commercials and billboards as well.
