It Has Been A Baptism Of Fire So Far In My Political Career Dr Zanetor

The daughter of Ex-President John Jerry Rawlings, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings has described the ongoing squabbling in Klottey Korle constituency over her candidature as ‘unfortunate.’

Speaking at a Women’s conference organised by the SRC of the Koforidua Polytechnic, the beleaguered MP aspirant noted that even though she comes from a privileged home, life has not been that rosy for her in her bid to be a lawmaker.

She maintained that all the happenings is a “baptism of fire” for her – but hopes all will be over soon.

"With all the issues going on politically and the court issues here and there, I don’t think I ever felt unsettled in the last 18 years of my life, so for me Ghana is where I belong, it has been a baptism of fire in the recent year or so but it’s been worth it," she said whiles counselling the students.

The eligibility of Dr. Zanetor is being contested in court by the incumbent Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Nii Armah Ashitey, whom she defeated in the NDC’s primaries.

The MP contends that Zanetor is not qualified to represent the NDC in the area because she is not a registered voter, which the Electoral Commission has confirmed.
