Stan Dogbe Out; Adu Asare In?...Hoax Statement! Says Gov't

Peacefmonline.com has chanced upon a statement trending on social media purportedly from the seat of government relieving Stan Xoese Dogbe of his position as Head of the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau.

The statement, issued by the Ministry of Communications - which now has oversight responsibility of the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau - and signed by Dr Omane Boamah, indicated that President John Dramani Mahama "has appointed former Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Fund, Kojo Adu Asare to replace him".

The statement quotes the president as saying he "appreciates of the work carried out by Stan Xoese Dogbe" and expressed "confidence in the capability and experience of the new appointee."

The statement which bears all the features of an official government correspondence further states that – “The President expects the new appointee to be committed to the task of managing the affairs of the office of the Communication Bureau of the Flagstaff House in order to realize his vision for the economic transformation of Ghana

Hoax

But a quick check with the sector minister revealed the statement is a hoax.

"False! False!! False!!!," was the terse reply Dr Omane Boamah sent to Peacefmonline when the Editor sought confirmation of the news.

He also asked the public to disregard the "false" statement, snapshots of which has drawn sharp condemnation from some members of government

Malicious

In a related development, Kojo Adu Asare, a former NDC MP for Adenta has called on the public to “kindly ignore the malicious information purported to be a press release appointing me as a replacement to Stan Dogbe. Kindly treat it with the contempt it deserves”.

Stan Dogbe has come under severe attacks recently over his alleged involvement in the printing of the error-ridden 59th Independence Day brochures.

Some have even accused the president of shielding him.

In the wake of the recent Independence Anniversary brochure gaffe which eventually led to the dismissal of Francis Kwarteng Arthur, the ISD Acting Director, majority of Ghanaians pointed accusing fingers at Stan Dogbe with NDC foot-soldiers calling on the President to, with immediate effect, remove him from the Flagstaff House.

Kwame McCarthy, an NDC foot-soldier, in particular likened Stan Dogbe to a ‘boil’ in the President’s armpit which needs to be treated urgently before it festers.

Indeed, people believe that Stan Dogbe’s continuous stay at the Flagstaff House, would affect the electoral fortunes of the President and for that matter the NDC in the November polls.

Stan Dogbe until his sack, has been described by many as an arrogant fellow.
