NPP Opens Book Of Condolence For Jake

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has opened a book of condolence at the party’s headquarters to enable the public pay tribute to the party’s former National Chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey who passed away Sunday, March 20.

Jake, as he was called within the political circles died Sunday dawn in London where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.

He held many key positions in the Kufuor administration including Minister of Information, Chief of Staff, Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital as well as Foreign Affairs and Diasporan Relations.

Jake occupied the National Chairman position of the NPP till he lost his bid to get a second term in 2010 to the suspended Chairman, Paul Afoko.

Jake polled 66 votes while Afoko polled 2,032.

He was also a celebrated media practitioner, manager and the past president of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG).
