Manhunt For Visa Fraudster

Officers at the Documents and Visa (fraud) Section (DVS) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters have launched a manhunt for a lady suspected of fraud.

Lillian Oye, also known as Nana Cohan or Nana Oye, is said to have posed as a worker of the United States Embassy in Accra.

She succeeded in taking various amounts of money totalling $204,690 from her unsuspecting victims with the assurance of securing them USA entry visas.

However, after reneging on her side of the bargain, she bolted and has since not been seen.

The police have since Friday, March 11, 2016 secured a bench warrant for the arrest of suspect Nana Oye.

The middle-aged woman is suspected to be hiding around Ashongman Estates, Adentan or Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region. 

The case was reported to the police after efforts by victims to locate her was unsuccessful.

The officer in charge of DVS, DSP Seth Sewornu appealed to the public to volunteer information to the police to assist them arrest the suspect.

Those with information on Lillian Oye's hideout can visit the Documents and Visa Section at the CID Headquarters or the nearest police station to assist police with their investigation.

Further, anybody with information which may lead to the arrest of the suspect would be rewarded.
