Avram Grant Should Ignore Criticisms And Do His Job - Kwesi Appiah

Former Black Stars coach Appiah tells his successor to ignore criticisms and do his job.

Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has advised Avram Grant not to fall to pressure from the local media, following unending criticisms the Israeli focuses too much attention on Ghanaians abroad at the expense of the domestic league.

Grant has assured that all Ghanaian players have equal chances to break into the national team and the Israeli has been attending league matches in the country since his return from a long vacation last month.

“He [Grant] should not fall to the pressure from the media and Ghanaians. Because they're saying he should monitor players doesn't mean he will have to move all over Africa,” Appiah toldStarr FM.

“If he feels that there are some particular positions that he needs to scout in Africa then it is okay. For example, when looking for a right midfielder and he thinks Solomon Asante maybe the right option and wants to come to Sudan and see that player, then I support that but not travelling to watch every Ghanaian,” he added.

Grant will lead Ghana to play Mozambique on Thursday in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium. The return leg comes up on March 28 in Maputo.
