IGP To Meet Executives Of Political Parties Over Their Security Issues - Atik

Atik Mohammed, General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC), has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kudalor to provide security for political leaders in the country.

According to him, due to the threats on the lives of politicians, their safety should not be overlooked but rather the Police Service should hold a meeting with the political stakeholders in the country to address their security concerns.

Commenting on the arrest of the three retired South African Police Officers, Atik Mohammed noted that the security of the heads and executives of the political parties should be crucial to the Police.

He ascribed the NPP's action to employ the services of foreign security experts to train their members to the lack of confidence in the Police Service by the political parties.

To him, the Police should prove to the parties that they are indeed up to the task and mandate given to them.

Atik told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that he expects "the IGP will call a meeting of all national executives and give us a security plan about how to safeguard our leadership. Let’s input into it so that at the end of the day, we all can be hopeful our security heads are ready to protect us.”
