Chief Threatens Man Over Car

Nene Nii Kommey Papasa III, the chief of Papaase Community near Nsawam/Adoagyiri Municipality in the Eastern Region has allegedly threatened to kill one Baffour Agyemang Sarkodie, a member of the New Patriotic Party communication team over a land cruiser.

Nii Kommey III, in last year October  sold a Toyota Land Cruiser which he exchanged with a land from one Pastor Bayala through an agent, Mr Annan to the NPP communicator at the cost of GH¢15,000.

Baffour Agyemang Sarkodie paid an amount of GH¢ 5000 to the chief and promised to pay the rest at a scheduled time, and the chief gave him the documents of the car.

DAILY GUIDE, according to a police source, learnt the NPP member who is staying at Medie later noticed that vehicle’s engine was faulty and therefore replaced the engine with a new one at the cost of GH¢3000.

Baffour Agyemang then informed the chief about the car’s condition and that he had spent close to GH¢1500 on repairs apart from the engine cost, so the chief should consider and give him more time to settle the rest of the amount.

Nene Nii Kommey III, who was not happy with the issue went and reported the matter to the Amasaman Police. After that the chief allegedly started sending threatening text messages to the NPP member to return the car or be killed.

Baffour Agyemang Sarkodie who became scared also went and reported the matter to the Amasaman Police but claimed that the police had so far done nothing about the case.

According to him he asked chief to refund of the money he had paid to him in addition to the repair costs but the chief insisted that he would not refund any money and only wanted his car back.

Nene Nii Kommey III, when contacted denied the allegations and said the police are preparing to send the matter to court. He said he did not like the amount Baffour gave him through the agent so “I only asked him to return the car or I will teach him a lesson, I didn’t say I will kill him.”
