Mahama sends goodwill message to Black Queens ahead of AWC qualifier

Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Minister of Youth and Sports, on behalf of His Excellency President John Mahama, the Government, Ministry of Youth and Sports and people of Ghana, have sent a good will message to the Senior National Women’s Team, the Black Queens in their upcoming tournament.

Black Queens hosts Tunisia on Tuesday 12th April in the return leg of the African Women’s Championship qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The message reads “I know the task ahead of you is daunting but not insurmountable. The whole country is behind you this moment and would give you the necessary support to enable you win this tournament.

Prepare your minds adequately and renew your spirit of conviction. Do not rest on your oars but work hard to raise the flag of Ghana high by winning your respective tournament and ultimately bring glory home.

I know we are in difficult times, but it is in such a moment that the Ghanaian character of toughness, resilience and excellence comes into play.

I urge the Coaches, as well as the Technical and Management of the team to ensure their players are well-conditioned and prepared physically, mentally and psychologically ahead of the competition.

The whole country is behind you and I call on all Ghanaians to remember you in their prayers. I wish you well and may victory crown your efforts.”
