CDS praises security personnel in Yendi

The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General P.A. Blay has extolled members of the Yendi Municipal Security Committee for their co-operation to maintain peace and security in the area. Major General Blay made the commendation when he paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Walvis Hudu in Yendi, where he interacted with the security committee. He said: �A country can only direct its resources for development when there is peace.� The defence chief called on the security agencies to remain united and share ideas to facilitate their work. Mr Walvis Hudu lauded the unity of purpose among the various security services. In a related development, Major Blay called on the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa Yakubu Abdulai Andani at his palace in Yendi. The chief appealed to the Chief of Defence Staff to improve on the logistics allocated to the soldiers in the area particularly their feeding. He observed that most conflicts in the country originate from the North, where the deprived and the vulnerable in society are the key players. Kampakuya Naa Andani said the presence of the security men who had left their families and dear ones was a concern to him. Major General Blay said it was his prayer that God would let His peace reign in the area.
